The Story of Shea’s American Bar & Grill Print E-mail

ImageThe owners of Shea’s American Bar & Grill, Jack Maloney, a well known sports enthusiast from Manchester, and Mark Resnisky, a well known restauranteur from West Hartford, met back in the late 70’s.  On a whim they left for Fort Meyers, Florida to visit a friend.  They ended up enjoying the sun and fun so much that they stayed for several years.

ImageUpon returning to Connecticut Mark began his long career in the restaurant business having owned and operated Crosstown Bistro in Bloomfield, Porch West Grill in Canton, The Diamond Pub & Grill in Glastonbury, and most recently Back Porch Bistro in West Hartford.

ImageJack returned to start an equipment rental business that quickly took off, and also purchased Z-Rink, an indoor sports complex in Glastonbury.  Both had recently sold a business and were looking for a new venture, and Shea’s American Bar and Grill was born.

The neighborhood pub atmosphere at Shea’s has developed from the personalities of both owners and the friendly help that they have hired.  Mark’s ability to work a room by greeting people and telling quick jokes, and Jack’s life long love of sports have set the tone at Shea’s.  Shea’s American Bar & Grill has quickly become a place where friends and business people come to enjoy an Irish beer, eat some great food, and watch a sporting event on one of the big screen TV’s.
